The picture you see while scrolling Pinterest is usually a 736 pixel preview. The file the creator uploaded is often much larger. PinSaver's image downloader looks for that original and lists it first, then offers smaller widths when the same photo can be requested at 1200, 736 or 474 pixels. You pick the size, and the browser saves it.
That matters for moodboards, print references, classroom slides and anything where a blurry crop is annoying. JPG, PNG and WebP stay in the format that was posted. PinSaver does not convert them and does not run them through a filter. If the original is a tall 2000 by 3000 photo, the original choice keeps those dimensions.
Carousel Pins, the ones with several photos you swipe, are handled as separate images. Each slide gets its own download, in order. You can save one slide or start them one after another. Idea Pins that are mostly stills are covered on the Idea Pin page, and a video's cover frame has its own thumbnail downloader.
Paste a single Pin link. Board and profile URLs are rejected on purpose, with a note to open one Pin. Country sites such as pinterest.de or pinterest.com.au work, and so do pin.it short links from the share sheet. There is no account to create.
As with every other file on PinSaver, the image is fetched when you ask and is not stored here. You are responsible for how you use it. A public photo is not a free licence. If you want to republish someone's work, ask them, and read the copyright notes on the disclaimer and DMCA pages.
If a Pin says no media was found, you may have copied a board, or the image may sit on a private board. Open the Pin in a logged-out window. If it does not load there, PinSaver cannot load it either. A fresh copy of the link fixes most of the remaining cases.

Short answers for this tool. The full list lives on the FAQ page.
Pinterest shows a compressed preview in the grid, often 736 pixels wide. The original upload is a different URL, and that is what PinSaver prefers.
Yes. The extension and file type follow the upload. PinSaver does not convert images to JPG.
No. Open each Pin you want, or use a carousel Pin which already groups its own slides. Boards are out of scope.
Some Pins only expose a sized image. PinSaver lists the sizes it can actually find rather than inventing a larger file.
