A GIF is a loop. A photo of the screen is one frame of that loop, and the motion is gone. If the Pin published an animated GIF, that is the file worth keeping.
What PinSaver lists
Paste the Pin link, not the board. When the public Pin is a GIF, the result prefers the GIF so the animation still plays. If Pinterest also published an MP4 of the same loop, that option sits beside it. The MP4 is often easier to drop into a slide or a message. The GIF is the file that still behaves like a GIF.
PinSaver does not turn an ordinary video into a GIF, and it does not recompress the file you save.
When the loop will not appear
A private Pin does not reveal its media. A link that points at a board, a profile or a search is not one file. Open the single Pin and copy that address. If the Pin is a video with a cover image, you will see an MP4 and a still, not a GIF. That is the file the creator published.
Copyright stays with the person who made the loop. Saving it for your own reference is not the same as reposting it.
